Fly fishing or light tackle sight fishing in the Louisiana marsh is an incredible experience like none other. Come down to South Louisiana to experience the greatest red fishery in the world. We fish from the Biloxi Marsh all the way down to the tip of Venice. We typically fish in water that ranges from 6” to 3 feet deep. We mainly target redfish and black drum, but we also have plenty of opportunity to catch sheepshead, jack crevalle, speckled trout, and sharks. Louisiana Fishing Guide Service utilizes technical poling skiffs in order to combine the excitement of hunting and fishing together. Your guide will stealthily pole you around the flats in search of the fish of a lifetime. This is the most exciting way there is to fish. You will get to see the fish before casting the fly right in front of their face and then watching them inhale the fly. Once they take the fly then the fight begins, its not uncommon to get into the backing in a hurry with these bull redfish.
During the fall and winter months we will focus on the larger redfish that come in to the shallows to feed where the water is warmer. It is also common in the late summer and early fall to run into huge school of spawning bull redfish that will provide nonstop insane action. During the spring and early summer we concentrate on fishing shallow grassy ponds. The fish will typically range from 5-15 pounds but are very aggressive. Fishing around the grass will ensure that the water is gin clear and we will be able to see the redfish from a good distance away.
