See What to Expect on an Inshore Fishing Charter

Most of the trips I run are private inshore trips out of Hopedale for redfish, speckled trout, black drum, and other seasonal species. This quick video gives you a better feel for the trip, the launch area, and what makes it such a great fit for most groups visiting New Orleans.

Why New Orleans Visitors Fish in Hopedale

A lot of people searching for a New Orleans fishing charter assume the trip needs to leave right from the city. In reality, launching from Hopedale gives us much quicker access to the kind of marsh water I actually want to fish. That usually means less running, more fishing time, and a better shot at redfish and trout.

Closer to the fish
We launch where the fishing starts, not where the traffic starts.

Less time running
Shorter runs usually make for a better day, especially for families and first-time anglers.

Better marsh fishing
Hopedale gives me more flexibility to adjust for tide, wind, and water conditions.

Three of us went out Wednesday. It was a pretty day but the wind was howling. We had a great time and caught our limit of reds. Jonathan was a great guide and we had a terrific time on the water.

I have fished with Jonathan since 2011 or 2012 and have always appreciated his skill at not only being able to find the fish but also being able to work the boat to get the best possible angle for a fly cast given the conditions. Highly recommend!

I’ve been fortunate enough to fish with Jonathan several times, and will absolutely do so again. Jonathan knows the marsh, the fish and how to put you on them but more than that it’s always fun to be on the boat with him! Some of my best fishing memories include Jonathan, and we still quote him quite often when on our home waters. I can’t wait to get back!
